Vintage Japanese Lacquered Wooden Serving Tray, Obon

A dark brown brushed with a clear lacquer, this vintage Japanese wooden serving tray has a makie gold and red design of hyotan gourds at the very center. Each gourd has a traditional Japanese pattern on it. It is a round tray with taller sides so drinks cannot easily slide off. 
Obon (serving trays) are typically used for serving drinks and snacks to guests in one's home, business, etc. They provide both function and beautiful decor.
